God saved the Israelites from Egypt, the land of slavery. He had to perform a lot of miracles using Moses to save them, and probably the most wonderful miracle to behold would be the parting of the Red Sea.
But even though the Israelites witnessed God's miracles right in front of their eyes, they still had little faith.
22 Then Moses led Israel from the Red Sea and they went into the Desert of Shur. For three days they traveled in the desert without finding water. 23 When they came to Marah, they could not drink its water because it was bitter. (That is why the place is called Marah.) 24 So the people grumbled against Moses, saying, "What are we to drink?" (Exodus 15:22-24)
The first thing Israel did when faced with bitterness was to look for someone to blame - and the lucky guy they saw was Moses. And Moses, with good faith, wasted no time complaining; he started praying out to the Lord.
25 Then Moses cried out to the LORD, and the LORD showed him a piece of wood. He threw it into the water, and the water became sweet. (Exodus 15:25)
In the end, God kept His promise; the Israelites reached the Promised Land where they lived a life free from slavery.
So are we like Moses? Or are we like the Israelites? Bitterness blinds us to the promises of God. So whenever we feel bitter, let's take a deep breath and pray out to God.

Great little devotional! Easy to read. All good reminders of things I had known before, but that we all need to be reminded of, especially to be responsible for our own actions and not to blame it on others.
Thanks Hummie! :) I do intend to keep my posts short but useful. If I keep it long, people might not read it.
